RFID - a warning to believers
Have you heard of RFID?
Radio Frequency IDentification is part of a growing industry known as nano-technology (the science of very small things). RFID "chips" are tiny transmitters that transmit a single 16 digit number.
Anything that an RFID chip can be attached to can thus be given a unique number that can be read by RFID receivers.
This number can be used to reference information from a database for anything from medical records to a list of authorised people allowed to unlock your front door.
A company called VeriChip have produced a Human Implantable RFID chip and are developing a host of practical and commercial applications for this new technology.
