About Us

The Church

The Church is, of course, its people. The building we meet in however, is the council owned Hertford Road Community Centre so if the roof leaks we don't have the hassle. Of course you might be thinking what denomination are we and who do we report to? We are a free church, that means free from denomination and we report to Jesus Christ as the head of the Church. The Bible calls us his bride to be.

We are a Bible believing community taking All of the Bible as our authority and guide. We like to think we are like the Bereans who checked out Paul with the scriptures to make sure he was telling the truth.

We are also a member of Churches Together In Stevenage (CTIS) and take an active part in regular prayer for Stevenage.

Pastor: Charlie Marshall

Charlie founded the Church back in 1997 and is both Pastor and Elder. Charlie has a heart for Stevenage and the wider nation. He has a firm belief that God is calling people in Stevenage to be saved and that we must do everything we can to take the word to them and disciple people properly leaving nothing out and adding nothing in.

Charlie noted that the activities of Jesus, the disciples and the early Church was one of compassion for the people, preaching the gospel, raising up disciples, healing the sick and casting out evil spirits whenever necessary. All of these things were done in equal measure and very matter-of-factly. Stevenage is a town with lovely people but there is also great need amongst many.

Allied Christian Worship Centre believes in practising all of the gifts of the spirit and following the example of the early Church where possible as we seek to guide the people of Stevenage to the truth in Jesus Christ.

Elder: Gary Watch

Gary has a heart for teaching, leading us in worship, pastoring, encouraging and even rebuking, if necessary.

Gary is very keen that we pay very much closer attention to what is going on in the world around us. As Christians we are required not to be of the world but we are most certainly in it! and we need to be alert to what is happening.

Gary has a passion for God's creation. We all understand that our school system will not give our children a balanced view on the subject of Creation so we fill that gap in our sunday teachings.

Elder: Nigel Darcy

Nigel is the newest member of the eldership team with a heart for service and pastoral care.

Nigel is very keen that we live out the gifts of the spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Nigel is the only living person I know of that has successfully commanded the wind and the rain and has witnesses to prove it!

Members

The members of the Church are made up of a community of families, singles, children and pensioners. The Men take turns to teach the Church from scripture with help from invited guest speakers.

During the week the men and women meet together for their respective prayer times and to study the Bible. All members pray for Stevenage every night at 7pm wherever they happen to be at that time.

At various times the Church members can be found on the streets of Stevenage in active street evangelism.

For children there is a Sunday School up until age 9, after which we encourage the children to stay with the adults in the main worship area.

Each Wednesday evening men teach their children in their own homes.
